That’s where the Louis Vuitton-owned Hublot luxury watch company recently sold the “$5 Million Watch.” It’s a cool two million more than their previously most expensive watch. Want to guess what that was named? If you answered the “$3 Million Watch” then you’re both right and good at telling when creative marketing is no longer necessary.

The watch is encrusted with 1,282 individual diamonds, each chosen specifically for this particular timepiece. This is counterclockwise in accordance with traditional luxury watch making customs, which tend to have the bezel and other components designed to the tune of preselected diamonds. It’s a testament to the particular craftsmanship of this spare-no-expense timepiece, as well as its astronomical cost.

Assembled more for show than for sale, there’s currently no word yet whether or not Holbot will make more $5 Million Watches. To be perfectly honest it’s unlikely anybody beside filthy rich diamondphiles will ever be caught with this piece of pricey jewelry around their wrist, so manufacturing will surely be limited in any scenario.

What’s Your Summer Color?

It may still be cold outside and it might feel as though we’ve just begun 2012, but summer is right around the corner – or at least summer fashion is. Between runway shows in New York and Milan and swirling rumors about the latest warm-weather trends, there’s no question that the fashion world has begun to look past the faded tones of winter attire in anticipation of summer.

So what will the summer of 2012 bring? On a men’s fashion front, the experts are predicting a turn towards the festive and casual. In a stark contrast from the conservatism exhibited in men’s business and winter lines, we can expect to see numerous faded T-shirts with faded colors and printed phrases when strolled around this summer. On a slightly dressier front, preppy men’s clothing will largely consist of colorful, lively polos paired with standard white khaki shorts.

The theme of colorful and casual clothing will also be on full display when women’s fashion is concerned. Although the models on the runways in Milan may be sporting a heavy dose of lace and tunics, more mainstream women’s fashion this summer will embrace light and clashing colors on pieces ranging from dresses to swimwear. Summer is traditionally a time for lighter colors, but we can expect to see this added emphasis on bright and vivid tones in 2012 for two main reasons: first, because people want brash yet casual tones to instill a sense of “fun” in the current economic climate, and two, because period piece TV shows and movies (ie Mad Men) have brought floral colors back into more popular use. Meanwhile, the desire to use clashing visuals likely draws its influence from the digital world, where computer printing has encouraged less subtle fabric designs.

So if you’re planning your summer wardrobe you really can’t go wrong with something that is bright and colorful. But even despite all the talk of layers and clashing colors, it is important that a given outfit has a base color – a color against which everything else can be juxtaposed. Your base colors should be just as light as all the others but, at the same time, it should probably be milder in tone. If you have light skin and hair, a soft yellow, orange, or green color can make for a great base. If you have darker features, on the other hand, you might do better with a light blue or a faded red. When it doubt, white is always a good option to consider.

Keeping track of celebrity hair color is a task any die-hard journalist would get years of material out of. Just like her music, Katy likes to keep her hair fun, spunky, and out of the ordinary. Her entire fashion ensemble screams that she is in it to party and have a good time unlike the Jonas Brothers who use their girlfriend’s promise ring as a tactic for marketing their albums.

Originally, Katy sported the traditional brunette hair that complimented her goddess-like looks. Her long locks screamed “classic beauty” and gave her a pin-up look that attracted girls because of the timeless factor and guys for other obvious reasons. Her, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga sparked a new craze for female singers because of their bold and fearless fashion choices.

Throughout 2010 and 2011, Katy has struggled to find a true ID for her hair. The cover of the California Gurls album shows her lounging out in a supermodel pose with a bright blue wig on top of her head. After the bright blue came a sort of fuschia pink color that looked like it came out of a hair spray can.

Recently Katy has ditched the over the top punk looks and settled on one that defines her chic and sensible side. People magazine reports that she appeared at a fundraiser thrown by David Lynch with a short blonde bob. This is a drastic transformation for the singer because we have never seen her without her long and luxurious hair.

Some say that her recent transformations are a guise to fool the media into thinking her marriage to Russel Brand isn’t running into a rough patch. She has just gotten a matching tattoo with her husband and both of them have been on a media tour claiming that everything is peachy betweeen the two. While the rumors may be surfacing, her style choices have earned her an actual Barbie doll based on her likeness.

The good thing about Katy Perry’s fashion sense is that it will always keep us guessing. Let’s hope that she has some fun with it without ending up shaving her head like Britney Spears did.

The very best thing I love about the seasons is the opportunity to wear different types of dresses and outfits. You have your spring dress and your fall dress. I even have my selection of winter outfits that I love. Since I can find such great selections at my favorite online shopping destinations it is easy to have a full wardrobe for each time of year. Ever since I have found so many great discount stores I have been able to add to my collection as I have the budget and not feel like I am over paying.

Even the most elegant dresses are marked down I have a couple of knitted dresses from Pure Collection that I love were purchased at really low prices. Sometimes you even find things that are up to 70% off the retail price. That is bargain basement stuff sister! No longer do we have to put up with the leftovers either there like you do in traditional malls. You know what I mean that returned item that has a makeup stain on the collar or it is a bright orange and green combination? I don’t know why anyone would even consider that purchase let alone let it hang in your closet!

Going Beyond Twilight

Even since I have been working and shopping on the internet I have been seeing a progression in the features available. It started simple with some web sites having galleries of products and then moved on from there. Now, since there are so many avenues to use to get to the Internet the competition has really started to focus on the client experience in different formats. When department stores started to leave the malls and move to online was when real money started to be funneled in and some very creative web development launched some of the most interesting shopping experience. Now, it is not just a ecommerce cart any more!

Take a look at some of the premier shopping sites and you will see some pretty cool stuff. One of my latest is the La Redoute web site and it has a lot to love. For one it lightening fast even on a low bandwidth connection. One of my and I be your pet peeves is waiting for a pic of the sexy little dress to show up. Large parts of the site’s real estate is taken up by easy to get to but vital information. Like how to do a return or I am ready to buy so where is the cart? What is completely making me go bonkers over this web site is the download application for my Iphone 4G! I can shop the entire website on my Iphone! And do anything I would want to do on my laptop. I can open a credit account or create a favorites list all from the comfort of my desk at work! No more pesky firewalls blocking my shopping experience!

Every year you have to have new swimwear. I just hate it when I am looking for bikinis! It is so hard to find one that I really love on my fabulicious body. It never fails on the funnest party day of the year I have no idea what to wear! Most of these so called coupon sites are a waste of time. Things you don’t need and deals where you have to buy so many of this before you get the big discount or they want a monthly fee!
